STANWOOD — Lake Stevens didn’t quite know the caliber of team it was facing going into Monday’s Wesco North boys soccer game against Stanwood. The Vikings have a better idea now.
Lake Stevens got a goal from Vasily Bogdanoff (Mark Russell assist) in the fourth minute, which proved to be the difference in the 1-0 win.
“I’ve really got to say that Stanwood is a much improved team,” Lake Stevens coach Scott Flanders said.
Tanner Eney and Michael Pierce split time in goal for Lake Stevens (4-1-0 league and overall). Dalton Alumbaugh was the goalkeeper for Stanwood (2-2-2).
“Their goalkeeper keeps them in any game,” Flanders said.
