No ducks were harmed in making this tape: The Duct-Tape Guys, Tim Nyberg and Jim Berg, have sold some 3 million copies of their seven books about the myriad uses and misuses of duct tape. Surprisingly, duct tape actually did start out as “duck tape,” the tape experts say, named for the cotton mesh duck cloth it was first made from.
Yes, you’re free to win a bar bet with that fact; but be prepared to have your mouth “duck taped” shut if you gloat about it.
Taking the plunge: A female bald eagle is recovering with an injured wing and her male mate is dead after the pair clasped talons in mid-air in a mating ritual and plunged into an icy snowbank in Valdez, Alaska, before they could pull out of their death spiral into the ground.
Said the female eagle: “I told him to stop and ask for directions. But would he listen to me?”
