M-P ousted from girls state tournament

TACOMA — The Marysville-Pilchuck girls basketball team saw its season come to an end Thursday with a 71-52 loss to Moses Lake at the Class 4A state tournament in the Tacoma Dome.

M-P, which was making its first state appearance in 13 years, finished the season with 17-8 record.

Morgan Martinis led M-P with 21 points, including five 3-point field goals. Dacia Heckendorf (15) and Andi Adams (10) also scored in double figures for the Tomahawks.

Moses Lake (16-13) was led by the 24 points of Jordan Loera.
