Sunny with a chance of inebriation: The Weather Channel, after sifting through records, determined that the Puget Sound area had the best winter in the nation as compared to its 30-year averages. Miami, Fla., with its second-coldest winter since 1927, had the worst winter.

That’s just great. When this gets out we’re going to be overrun every March by drunk college kids on spring break hitching boat rides to Jetty Island.

  • A Star is Born 2010: A songwriter and music producer who helped launch the career of the glam pop star Lady Gaga has sued her for $30.5 million, claiming she squeezed him out as her career soared.

He’s asked the court to schedule a hearing soon, as the attention of Gaga’s fans is expected to drift elsewhere in 5 … 4 … 3 … .

  • Where’s my quill pen? I’m writing a letter: Republicans in the Minnesota Legislature have launched a crusade against a federal government mandate that will ban the sale of incandescent light bulbs after 2014 in favor of energy-efficient fluorescent bulbs.

A few Minnesotans apparently are still bent out of shape over that whole switch over to electrical lights from kerosene lanterns.
