All that toil in the kitchen on Thanksgiving can be dangerous, so Underwriters Laboratories compiled a set of holiday cooking safety tips.

To cook safely, it’s important to use the right tools for the job, including The Buzz’s No. 1 kitchen must-have: a broomstick with which to push the button to silence the smoke detector when something burns on the stove.

Mmmm, gypsum: The federal government says it has evidence that drywall imported from China is causing rotten-egg odors and severe corrosion in recently built homes.

The investigation means China’s drywall factories might have trouble moving their product. But that’s no problem; they’ll just grind it up and sell it as a powdered-milk additive.
