Stanwood: Pilchuck Glass has new director
The world-renowned Pilchuck Glass School northeast of Stanwood has a new director.
Pat Wallace replaces Arthur Jacobus, who resigned his post as executive director Dec. 11 to return to the performing arts sector. Wallace, the school’s interim director, has served on Pilchuck’s Board of Trustees since 1992, including the past five years as board president.
A permanent replacement for Jacobus is expected to be named in 2010, Wallace said.
Founded in 1971 by Dale Chihuly, Anne Gould Hauberg and the late John Hauberg, Pilchuck Glass School is an international center for glass art education located on a former tree farm. The school receives funding from the National Endowment for the Arts and the Washington State Arts Commission, among other organizations.
