Hot enought for ya?

AC/Doozy: With temperatures still creeping up above 100 in usually temperate Snohomish County, the hot item — sorry — at hardware stores this week has been air conditioners.
So, once the heat wave recedes, here’s what you can do with that $300 box sitting in the window:
Turn it on at night so you can fall asleep to the “white noise.”
Use it as a steady base for your space heater this winter.
Set your beer in front of it to keep the glass mug nice and frosty while watching football.

Just bag it: Starting next year, you likely won’t hear “Paper or plastic?” in Edmonds stores. The City Council has banned stores from handing out most plastic grocery bags.
So bring a cloth bag with you and you can feel a little better about toting home a sack full of items in those plastic packages that require an arc welder to open.

And no pets: The Arizona Legislature would rather rent than own. To fix a budget hole, it’s proposing to sell off its capitol building, then lease it back from the new owner.
It sounds like a good idea until you consider that they’ll need to scratch up enough cash for first and last month’s rent and a damage deposit.
