Golden kitchen

Published 9:16 pm Wednesday, May 27, 2009

Today’s Home &Garden section features a kitchen remodel that was 15 years and $120,000 in the making. Sure, you could employ a full-time chef for a while for that kind of money, but an Everett couple chose to put in beautiful woodwork and a vaulted ceiling.

Unfortunately, the kitchen is so nice, no food can be allowed anywhere near it.

Paper pampering: Martha Stewart shares some tips for preserving old papers in today’s column. She suggests a cool, dark place for storage or professional framing for the ones you want to display.

Of course, after her little “incident” a few years ago, all of Martha’s papers go straight to the shredder.

A fine mess: A new TV show called “Disaster House” is looking for home disasters in the Everett area. To qualify, you need a horrendous mess and no sense of embarrassment. For some reason, Everett was the first place that popped into mind.

Flirting again: Yahoo CEO Carol Bartz says the company is open to selling to Microsoft, but only for “boatloads of money.”

When talks between the two companies started last year, it would’ve taken a freighter full of cash to buy Yahoo. Now it’s more like a dinghy.
