Smiley come home: Smiley the dog, a mixed breed purloined in February from a Whidbey Island animal shelter at the height of a custody battle, was found Wednesday by Island County Sheriff’s deputies. Smiley, a sheriff’s spokesman said, was taken to an “undisclosed location” (above).
Smiley reportedly is enjoying long walks with Dick Cheney and has refrained from biting his new master out of professional courtesy.
