Mukilteo: Editing class tells digital photo secrets
Learn how to transform mediocre snapshots into stunning images at a digital photo editing class at 11 a.m. April 18 at the Mukilteo Library, 4675 Harbour Pointe Blvd.
Topics include use of colors, contrast adjustment and effective cropping. Pen Miniken will discuss the use of GIMP, an open-source software similar to Photoshop. Participants may submit images for use in class by Saturday by e-mail to gimpclass@gmail.com.

Everett: Concert raises $280,000 for charity
Barry Manilow’s March 15 concert at Comcast Arena at Everett raised $280,000 for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, said Dottie Moore of the group’s Seattle office.
The money is used for cystic fibrosis research and support for patients with the disease.
Manilow’s Las Vegas and Portland, Ore., shows also benefited the organization.
Lynnwood: American-Korean Easter events
A joint American-Korean Easter service, and a joint potluck following the service, is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m., Sunday at the Meadowdale Baptist Church and Global Mission Church, which both meet in the same building at 4900 168th St. SW. The Baptist church also is planning a Good Friday service at 7 p.m. today.
High school seniors set bingo fundraiser
Lynnwood High School’s second annual bingo night is scheduled from 6:30 to 9 p.m. April 17 in the school’s commons, 3001 184th St. SW. Food, beverages, prizes and raffle items are planned for this senior class fundraiser. Tickets are available at the door — $1 each, or $5 for six.
Edmonds: Senior health fair set planned April 30
Learn how better to deal with stress, and hear tips for healthy eating and exercise, at the South County Senior Center’s 2009 Senior Health Fair. The free event is set for 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 30 at the senior center, 220 Railroad Ave.
More than 45 representatives from senior-focused health and service organizations are scheduled to attend and offer demonstrations and presentations. A healthy box lunch will be available from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. for $2.50. Fair sponsors are Edmonds Landing and Rosewood Courte.

Share ideas for a ‘green’ Edmonds on Earth Day
An open and public brainstorming session to solve climate problems is planned from 6 to 9 p.m. April 22 as Edmonds hosts a National Conversation on Climate Action at City Hall, 121 Fifth Ave. N.
Elected officials, city staff and energy experts are expected to attend. Residents are invited to join the conversation.
Participants will listen to several speakers, and then gather in breakout sessions to talk about their ideas for igniting interest among citizens for increasing their energy efficiency and creating a more “green” Edmonds.
