SHORELINE — Shorecrest’s offense provided some thunder to go with the lightning at Shoreline Stadium in 6-0 win over Evergreen in the opening round of the Class 3A boys soccer playoffs Tuesday night.

Six different Scots scored and the team jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first half, scoring twice before a 15-minute lightning delay and once after it.

Senior forward Jonathan Cho collected a pass from junior defender Michael Harris while streaking down the right side. He booted a right-footed shot into the left corner to start things off in the 14th minute.

Shorecrest added two more scores in the first half assisted by long throw-ins by senior defender Nick Terrel.

Junior Eli Blauser tapped in a Terrel heave on the far post in the 23rd minute. Sophomore Glenn Paden headed in a goal in the 38th minute after play resumed off a Terrel throw-in on the other side of the field.

“That third goal by Glenn was the spirit breaker,” Shorecrest coach Drew Thompson said.

Senior midfielder Jeremy Novack made it 4-0 in the 55th minute, dribbling up the middle past Evergreen goalkeeper Andrew Parker after another Terrel throw-in.

Nate Chamness, who usually starts as defender, came off the bench to score off a free kick by Harris in the 71st minute. Jayme Perry rounded out the scoring with a header in the 71st minute off a pass from Blauser.

Eric Baker and Victor Casarez combined for the shutout in goal.
