SMOKEY POINT — Medics on Monday afternoon tried to revive an 84-year-old man whose pickup truck crashed into a tree.
The Marysville man was eastbound on Highway 531 just before 4 p.m. when his truck left the road and struck a tree near Lake Ki, Washington State Patrol trooper Keith Leary said. Witnesses told troopers the man was going no more than 25 miles per hour. He had suffered a medical emergency before the accident, Leary said.
Medics performed CPR and rushed the man to a hospital, Leary said. The man was in critical condition Monday evening at Providence Regional Medical Center Everett’s Colby campus.
