Our graphic novels had smaller words

Graphic novels — don’t call them comic books — are popular with kids and a good way to encourage reading, say many librarians.
We didn’t realize it at the time, but The Buzz was a big fan of graphic novels when he was a kid. Some favorites: “The Cat in the Hat,” “Where the Wild Things Are,” “Curious George” and “Harold and the Purple Crayon.”
Of course I’m an artist; can’t you see I’m wearing a beret? A Stanwood gallery is planning a life drawing marathon for March 20, in which nude models will pose for artists as a benefit for the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life.
But expect some dirty looks if you show up and can only draw stick figures.
How about a Fresca? Tulalip Tribes members could soon vote on a proposal to limit alcohol sales on the reservation. Two stores would be barred from selling alcohol, the state liquor store would have to take down signs advertising alcohol and Bob’s Burgers and Brew might have to change its sign to remove the offending “Brew” part of its name.
Our suggestions for possible name changes: Bob’s Burgers and Root Beer, Bob’s Burgers and Near Beer and Bob’s Burgers and Mugs of Amber Liquid That Isn’t Necessarily Alcoholic.
