Cleanup is for lovers
Bring your sweetie on Valentine’s Day and plant trees and shrubs in Everett.
People For Puget Sound will be restoring habitat from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Jetty Island.
They provide tools, gloves, snacks, coffee and water. Please bring sack lunches and refillable water bottles, dress for the weather, and wear boots or sturdy shoes for digging in.
Just be sure that whatever you wear, you don’t mind getting dirty. Catch the ferry at 10 a.m. at 10th Street and W. Marine View Drive.

Aid an auction: The Silvana Fair board has begun collecting donations for the board’s annual auction.
The board uses the proceeds for improvements at the fair.
The Silvana Fair is the last Saturday of July and is the only fair in the county that doesn’t charge for parking or admission.
The fundraising auction is set for 6 p.m. March 14 at Viking Hall in Silvana. For more information or to donate, call 360-652-6064.
Quick before it melts: Darrington has endured a lot of snow this winter. To have some fun, a contest is on.
The Mark Wicken Memorial Fund is offering cash prizes for the best snow sculpture in town.
Send a photo of sculptures and list the location of the artwork. The first-place win is worth $100, second is $75 and third is $50.
The deadline is Feb. 28.
For more information, call Darrington Town Hall at 360-436-1131.
