Police arrested a 22-year-old Lynnwood man who they believe is responsible for a string of 10 convenience store robberies throughout south Snohomish County.
The man was arrested Saturday after an attempted holdup at a 7-Eleven store just before noon in the 19200 block of Filbert Road in Bothell, according to a police affidavit.
A clerk told police a man came into the store, showed a gun and said, “Give me the money,” the police report said. The clerk yelled at the man and scared him off. The clerk was able to give police a license plate number on the truck the man drove off in.
The man reportedly confessed to eight similar robberies, including a Dec. 30 incident at the Best Market in the 2300 block of 196th Street SW in Lynnwood, and a Jan. 9 robbery at the Shell station a block away.
Detectives accuse the man, who police believe is a methamphetamine user, of a Dec. 23 holdup at the Mr. Kleen station in the 19900 block of 44th Avenue W, according to court documents.
The man was booked into the Snohomish County Jail for investigation of first-degree attempted robbery and first-degree robbery.
