Oh for seven and bowl ineligible

Well, not that anyone thought they were going to make a bowl game these last few weeks, but it became official for the Huskies tonight after a 33-7 loss to Notre Dame.
Now it’s time for the alway fun “playing for pride” portion of the season.
“Right now the thing we’ve got to draw on is just basic pride,” Tyrone Willingham said after the game. “We’ve got to step up—coaches and players and all of us have to step up and do better than what we did tonight, because this was not a good performance.”
The final numbers showed the same thing as the scoreboard: a dominant performance for Notre Dame.
The Irish had 459 yards to Washington’s 124, 25 first downs to Washington’s nine, and averaged 5.1 yards per carry to Washington’s 1.1.
Heading into their final drive of the night, the Huskies had just four first downs and 55 yards of offense, and hadn’t gotten the ball past midfield all night.
As Willingham put it, “There was nothing we really did well tonight.”
On the injury front, the Huskies lost Senio Kelemete to a knee injury before the game even started. David Freeman also left the game after re-injuring his ankle, and Victor Aiyewa left with a groin injur that was apparently different from the one that kept him out of the first four games of the year.
