LAKE STEVENS — A mobile home was destroyed in a fire that broke out shortly after 11 a.m. near 1425 117th Drive.
Fire crews determined that the double-wide mobile home was a total loss. Neighbors said the trailer has been vacant for more than a year.
After a search, officials determined there was no one inside, Battalion Chief Travis Hots said.
“The structure had no power and was unoccupied, so how the fire started is suspicious,” Hots said.
As for the mobile home itself, Hots said, “There was nothing left to save.”
Responding fire departments from Lake Stevens and Snohomish surrounded the blaze, making sure that the fire did not spread to other homes.
The closest home to the fire was more than 100 yards away to the west, with a line of trees separating the properties.
Lake Stevens Fire Marshal Robert Marshall and the Snohomish County fire marshal are investigating.
