Emily Boerger
Marysville-Pilchuck
Boerger, a 6-foot-2 middle hitter, returns to the Tomahawks varsity volleyball team this fall. The senior had her best game last year against Mountlake Terrace when she recorded 21 kills. After being named to the Wesco 1st team in 2007, she continued to work on her volleyball game during the off-season by playing for the Rain City Volleyball Club and the team qualified for Nationals in Dallas. She also is an amazing student and holds a 4.0 GPA.
Ashley Broadwell
Archbishop Murphy
Captain of the Archbishop Murphy varsity volleyball team, Broadwell is also a three-year letterman and a 4.0 GPA student. She’s had numerous honors bestowed on her, including Herald Player First Team All Area and 2A All State Honors Second Team. She’s also competed in the USAV Junior Olympics for the last three years, placing third in 2007, and she helped the Wildcats finish fifth in the 2A state competition last year with 51 kills and 16 aces. “Ashley is one of the hardest working players I’ve seen,” said coach Jim Hardy. She plans to attend Pepperdine University next fall.
Cailin Fellows
Edmonds-Woodway
Fellows, who averaged over four kills per game last year and helped bring the Warriors to a ninth place state 4A finish, will be returning to the court for her fourth season on the varsity team. She was on the All Wesco South First team for the past two years and an All-Area Second team as a junior. Her coach, Michael Pittis, said she has “an excellent jump serve” and “ranks in the top three in all hitting and serving statistics” that E-W keeps.
Bailey Jones
Kamiak
As a six-foot middle blocker, Jones knows her way around the court. The senior is returning for her third year on the Kamiak varsity volleyball team and is a strong leader for the team. She plans to attend Western Washington University next fall and join its volleyball team. In addition to playing on the Knights, she participates in club volleyball, is involved in several school activities and holds a 3.95 GPA.
Kylin Munoz
Monroe
Munoz is ranked as the sixth best volleyball player in the nation by Prepvolleyball.com. She has also been listed by Volleyball Magazine as one of their 25 players to watch. Last year, she averaged five kills per game and has a total of 412 kills over her high school career. She was named the Herald’s All-Area Volleyball Player of the Year in 2007 and has led the Bearcats to the state tournament for the past three years. After being recruited by over 100 Division 1 colleges, Munoz has decided to commit to BYU.
