Science embraces Wikiality

Science by popular opinion: Researchers are building a library of human genetics on Wikipedia, the Web site where anyone can sign in and edit an entry.
The obvious concern is that errors will be added to the list of 7,000 genes. And when scientists are involved, you never know what kind of wacky hijinks will ensue. Why, already some prankster rewrote the entry for F5I10.6 in Klingon.
AOL is raising rates on its cheapest dial-up service by $2 a month. The customer reaction should be minimal. At this point, almost every remaining subscriber has long since given up trying to cancel AOL.
A line of pennies stretched a record-setting 40 miles Saturday in Kansas. A representative of the Guinness Book of World Records called the feat “moving.”
The record was credited to the tireless work of volunteers and the fact that there is absolutely nothing to do in Kansas.
And you may think you have it rough these days, but think of the suffering celebrities and pro athletes. Many report having trouble selling their multimillion-dollar mansions.
