Marysville-Pilchuck tops Edmonds-Woodway 13-7

EDMONDS — Call it the baseball butterfly effect: A bad play or two leads to poor play elsewhere.

Such was the case for Edmonds-Woodway — which walked seven batters and committed three errors — helping Marysville-Pilchuck score 10 runs in the first two innings en route to a 13-7 victory on Wednesday.

Edmonds-Woodway settled down after the second inning and out-hit their opponent — but the damage was already done.

“Anytime you walk a lot of guys, you’re defense is going to get behind,” Edmonds-Woodway coach Matt Barker said.

Edmonds-Woodway’s Kramer Scott had two hits in four at bats, hitting a home run and a double.
