It’s no ‘Hello, Larry’: It’s a good thing the writers strike appears close to being settled.

Networks desperate for new shows might have been tempted to run episodes of Venezuela’s “Hello, President,” starring Hugo Chavez as a South American president and lovably crazy uncle who tangles with his neighbor W. Bush.

Hilarity ensues in this week’s episode when Hugo accuses W. of not returning the hedge trimmer he borrowed and warning: “Take note, Mr. Bush, Mr. Danger.”

Only five? Herald sports columnist Kirby Arnold points to five things the Seattle Mariners will have to tackle as spring training begins, including keeping players healthy and on the field.

Keeping a manager in the dugout for a full season would also help.

Yes, yes, yes: Pop singer Amy Winehouse won five Grammys on Sunday night.

Winehouse, who sings, “They’re trying to make me go to rehab; I said no, no, no,” and then went to rehab anyway, wasn’t present to accept her awards because U.S. border officials initially had a similar reply when she asked for a visa. In her absence, Britney Spears accepted her Grammys.
