Boys basketball Jordan Carter of Lake Stevens was named the MVP of the Cactus Jam Tournament in Scottsdale, Ariz. Carter had nine points and nine assists in a win over Fortuna, Calif. He scored 23 points in a victory over Scottsdale Christian. And he scored eight of his nine points in the fourth quarter of a win over Woodinville.

Girls basketball In her last two games at the White River Holiday Classic, Cascade’s Danielle Love totaled 45 points, 26 rebounds, 10 assists and seven blocked shots.

Wrestling Tim Hester of Shorewood, who was a state runner-up last season, defeated a Hawaii state champion en route to a 6-0 record at 189 pounds at the Iolani Invitational.
