What you’re missing on TV

As the TV writers’ strike drags on, some shows have run out of episodes, while others have only a few remaining. But we don’t want to forget them while they’re gone.

Here, then, is the first in a series of updates on shows that are out of fresh episodes and what we’d see if they were filming:

  • “How I Met Your Mother” (CBS): Narrator Bob Saget tells his kids another raunchy story from his bachelor days about himself and a woman who is not their mother. Because the kids are teenagers and their dad would have to be insane to tell them these stories, child welfare workers finally intercede.

  • “Heroes” (NBC): Hiro goes back in time again, but not to save the world. This time, he goes back to prevent this season’s story arc from happening. Then he does the same thing for Season 2 of “Lost” and the last four seasons of “The X-Files.”

Now that’s an icebreaker. Police say the packaging of Ice Breakers Pacs candy looks almost identical to that of street drugs. Hershey, which makes the candy, says it might change the design.

It’s easy to see why there was confusion. Hershey does have a lot of practice in packaging addictive substances.
