Wittinger brought professionalism to council

It was recently reported that Councilman Doug Wittinger will be resigning from the Mountlake Terrace City Council, as he and his wife Mycah have purchased a house in Edmonds.

I want to thank Councilman Wittinger for the hard work and professionalism he brought to the Mountlake Terrace City Council. Councilman Wittinger was always prepared for the matters at hand, and it was Councilman Wittinger who more often than not asked the questions that needed to be asked to provide clarity and understanding. Councilman Wittinger showed wisdom and common sense in reaching a determination on any given matter. Agree with him or not — one could at least understand how he arrived at his final vote on any given issue.

Recently my wife and I concluded that Mountlake Terrace no longer provided the small town atmosphere it presented to us upon our initial single residential purchase some 20 years ago. From our perspective, there always seemed to be yet another proposal or plan to increase residential density. As a result we recently relocated to Edmonds, a town which appeared to us to value and protect its single family neighborhoods and maintain a superior, small town lifestyle for single family homeowners.

In choosing Edmonds as a place to reside, we believe that Doug and Mycah have made a fine choice. We are pleased to give Doug and Mycah a big “Welcome New Neighbor” to our town.
