We should go after container business

Regarding the Monday article, “Port touts its river park”:
I’m disappointed in the Port of Everett. It’s obvious they are afraid to take a chance. They seem to have no vision.
The ports of Tacoma and Portland are expanding and have been for many years and not on a promise of a tenant, like the Port of Everett needs.
If they build it, they will come.
You would think that Everett would learn from the other ports that are growing in the industrial world, they are keeping the working class people employed.
I was under the impression that the port was a non-profit organization, whose function is to help create jobs. Not to be a landlord for big condos and new office buildings … eliminating industrial jobs.
It’s time to read between the lines and vote for new leadership.
I remember when you weren’t required to pay a port tax … oh wait, that was when there were ships waiting to be docked, loaded with logs. It took the Spotted Owl to kill these jobs, now it looks like port management will kill the rest.
It looks like everyone else is listening to their consultants except the Port of Everett.
