Wealthiest residents can afford estate taxes

The article in The Herald on Oct. 30, “Developer works to end estate tax,” needs to be reviewed. Since Mr. Selig does not pay any state income tax, where does he expect the revenue to help fund the schools to come from?
He talks about helping the small businessman, who must be doing pretty well if he is in the $2 million bracket.
The article stated that the state raises $100 million from 0.5 percent of the deaths that occur each year.
I’m sure Mr. Selig’s heirs will get by fine if the state takes a small percentage of his estate.
