First Half by the Numbers

Just got the first-half stat sheet and it shows that Washington has been even better than I originally thought.

The Huskies have outgained the Spartans 265-103, and the numbers on the ground are pretty atonishing: Washington 20 carries for 134 yards, a 6.7 average; San Jose 13 rushes for 15 yards. Spartans running back Yonus Davis has two yards on four carries.

Isaiah Stanback is 11-for-14, and one of the incompletions was a drop, for 131 yards, and he has 33 yards rushing on seven carries. SJSU quarterback Adam Tafralis is 9-for-12 but for only 88 yards, meaing that while the Spartans are accurate, Washington’s DBs are not giving up big plays. Washington also has 13 first downs to four for San Jose.
