Same robber hits bank again

EVERETT – They recognized the robber before he made a grab for some cash Monday.
The employees at the Snohomish County PUD Credit Union believe the man who robbed them Monday was the same man who held them up three weeks ago.
“As soon as they saw the guy, they hit the (alarm) button,” Everett police Lt. Robert Johns said.
Despite the quick response, the man was able to make off with money.
Police dogs searched the area around the credit union, located in the 1300 block of Broadway.
But the man disappeared. The dogs lost his scent in a nearby alley.
The robber has been good at eluding police.
Like the bank employees, officers believe he is the same man who robbed the credit union July 5.
That robbery happened about 15 minutes after a botched attempt at the First Heritage Bank a few blocks away.
A man matching the description of the suspect in Monday’s heist robbed the bank, but ditched the loot after a dye pack exploded and coated the cash, police said. Then he moved on to the credit union.
Police believe he may be responsible for other robberies in the area, including one at Northwest Plus Credit Union June 15.
The suspect is a white man in his 30s. He is about 5 feet, 8 inches tall and about 150 pounds. He has a goatee and light brown hair cropped close to his head. He wears dark, mirrored sunglasses.
Anyone with information about Monday’s robbery or any others is asked to call the police tip line at 425-257-8450.
