Career: Walker was a four-time state champion in the long jump. She qualified for the 1976 Olympics as a 19-year-old but did not place.

Postscript: Walker married a man named Sean Boyea and retired from track so that she could raise a family. Walker Boyea and her family now live in Northern California, where she competes in professional handball. She still holds the state record in the long jump (21-3), 30 years after her final competition.
