Prep football: King’s 49, Lakeside 6

SHORELINE — King’s senior quarterback Ryker Roberts led the Knights to a non-conference victory over Lakeside on Friday night.
Making his first start in place of Koa Wilkins, who broke his collarbone last week, Roberts was 7-for-8 passing for 108 yards and a touchdown.
King’s wideout Jake Welch caught four passes for 68 yards and a touchdown, and Caleb Perry was the Knights’ leading rusher, with 12 carries for 118 yards and two touchdowns.
The Knights’ defense recorded four takeaways and held Lakeside to 12 yards rushing in the game as King’s improved to 2-0 on the season.
