The ‘difference’ is the loss of lives

A couple of weeks ago, George W. Bush was asked about the absence of weapons of mass destruction in Iraq.
After spending close to a year using the “evidence of weapons of mass destruction and ties to terrorists who would use them,” no WMD or ties to al-Qaida have been found in Iraq.
“So what’s the difference?” demanded President George W. Bush when pressed on the issue by ABC News’ Diane Sawyer. “If he were to acquire weapons, he would be the danger. That’s what I’m trying to explain to you. A gathering threat, after 9/11, is a threat that needed to be dealt with, and it was done after 12 long years of the world saying the man’s a danger.”
More than 460 dead American soldiers and a couple of thousand more wounded (many of whom will come home amputees) is the difference.
