Government seems to get away with it

I like how our government thinks. Times are tough and voters are fed up with high taxes – property taxes, excise taxes, Medic One taxes and any-way-politicians-can-suck-money-out of-us-taxes. When the voters say “stop this waste,” our politicians respond with “cut fireman, police and parks.” That’s like me saving money by not eating, drinking and using heat. How do they get away with it?
