Edmonds School District will interview six applicants to replace Larry Ehl as president of the board of directors in closed executive session Nov. 6 and 12, officials said. The School Board is expected to make a decision the following week.
Ehl resigned Sept. 24 during the School Board meeting.
Because Ehl’s four-year term runs through 2003, the board must appoint someone to fill his position within 90 days of resignation.
Ehl said his decision to leave the Board was based on personal reasons. After his triple bypass surgery in June, he said he is “really committed” to spending more time with his family, including three young children, and exercising. Though he is now full recovered, he says he does not want to go through that experience again.
