Terrace scores, but Shorecrest still perfect in fastpitch

SHORELINE – Maybe the defending state champion Shorecrest Scots can be beaten-or at least be given a close game.
Western Conference South Division softball rival Mountlake Terrace broke the ice Monday and scored on the Scots for the first time all season, yet still came up short in a 4-2 loss.
“Since I’ve been coaching I can remember all the games with them being close, like one point,” third-year Shorecrest coach Kristie Oglesby said.
The Scots improved to 13-0 in Wesco South Division, while Mountlake Terrace (10-3) keeps a foothold on second place with six games remaining before playoffs begin.
Pitcher Kristina Thorson improved to 13-0 with a 15-strikeout, two-walk performance. Catcher Toni Brickel hit a three-run double in the third inning.
