Mission Beach fire kept from spreading

I have to commend all of the firefighters who took part in battling the blaze on Mission Beach Dec. 1. We are thanking our lucky stars, as we live directly across the street.

It was unnerving to look out our window and see flames headed directly into our yard. But thanks to the great work by the fire crews, they were able to keep the fire from spreading any farther.

We would like to convey our deepest sympathy to those who lost their homes. We don’t even want to imagine their predicament.

We would also like to send a heartfelt thank you to all the fire crews. You did one hell of a job.
