American Legion Post 234 of Mountlake Terrace will honor Vietnam War era veterans with a free gourmet dinner and entertainment from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Aegis, 14900 First Ave. NE, Shoreline.

Halloween fire safety: The Lake Stevens Fire Department will hand out fire safety cards during the Lake Stevens Family Center’s annual Family Safe Halloween Festival, 5:30-8 p.m. today in downtown Lake Stevens.
