Arlington’s Burt scores 45 in victory

ANACORTES – Arlington hung on for a 64-62 non-conference victory Wednesday night as University of Washington bound Kayla Burt led the Eagles to the girls basketball victory.
Burt finished with a triple double with 45 points, 12 rebounds, and 11 steals. Burt also had five assists.
“Kayla was awesome tonight,” said Arlington head coach Mike Buckholz. “She showed her leadership and took her young teammates on a ride to victory.”
With Arlington holding a 63-54 lead with two minutes left, Anacortes gave Arlington everything it could handle.
Arlington (1-1) trailed by one point entering the fourth quarter., That’s when Burt took over, scoring 15 of her game-high 45 points in the quarter.
With a nine-point lead and only two minutes to go, Arlington showed its youth and turned the ball over to Anacortes, cutting the lead to one at 63-62, but with only one second left
Burt finished off the night and Anacortes with a free throw that sealed the victory.
