Fire destroys Mukilteo home on Saturday

MUKILTEO — A home was destroyed by a fire Saturday afternoon in Mukilteo, officials with the Mukilteo Fire Department said.

The fire happened in the 11000 block of 55th Avenue west about 4:15 p.m.

When firefighters arrived, a two-story home was engulfed in flames.

Fire officials told KIRO-TV that the homeowner tried to extinguish the flames but could not.

Fire officials called the fire accidental.

The fire caused an estimated $180,000 in damage.
