Get college training to get a good wage

The Herald editorial of Nov. 17, “740,000 jobs for the qualified” was excellent.

Although community colleges and vocational schools have been available for many years, it’s amazing the number of programs they now offer. Google “Everett Community College Programs” for example. There are 96, ranging from accounting and bookkeeping to world languages. If those don’t catch a potential student’s interest, Google Skagit Valley, Whatcom, Edmonds CC’s or venture further to area vocational schools or other community colleges for up-to- date information.

Students are in for a better life as well as helping fulfill all those jobs that will be available currently to 2030. Otherwise, employers will search for out-of- state skilled students; companies might move to other states where more people have the skills. That’s not a good economic picture for our state.

People, attention: Wake up! Get up! Explore! Prove that you are more worthy of a $60,00-$100,000 salary than $20,000-30,000 per year! Need financial assistance? Ask your school advisers or contact the colleges for resources now no matter what age you are.
