Merger still on table
The cities of Arlington and Marysville, along with Fire District 12, plan to meet Jan. 26 to continue talks of merging firefighting and emergency medical services.
“No decisions have been made at this point as we are still in the exploratory phase, reviewing our respective operations and finances,” said Gloria Hirashima, chief administrative officer for Marysville.
The meeting is at 5 p.m. at Arlington Council Chambers, 110 E. Third St. Meetings are set for the fourth Thursday of each month and will rotate between Marysville and Arlington.

Plane talk: The PBY Naval Air Museum plans its monthly no-host luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the CPO Club, 1080 Ault Field Road, Oak Harbor.
Pilot Fred Owen will tell the story of an PBY-6A, N85U’s destruction during the filming of the recently released movie “USS Indianapolis: Men of Courage.” The public is invited.
