Accept it: Trump is our president

I am a longtime follower of the “Opinion” page. There seems to be evidence of an increased liberal bias within this voice beyond the accepted western Washington Democratic Party bias. A condition which I have always found difficult to fully understand.
One of the issues that gets my attention are the numerous favorable comments regarding “popular vote” vs. the electoral college. Oddly, these comments come from both the grass-roots as well as the elected.
Is it not fact that Hillary’s two-plus million majority was concentrated only in California and New York. Take just those two states from the mix and Trump won the popular vote. It would follow that with a popular vote we could and would eliminate the sparsely populated states, maybe even Washington, from having any say in our presidential choice.
Another issue is that the glaring inattention to the federal governments $20 trillion cesspool, which will ultimately require strong remedies. The prevailing vocal reaction to most of the proposed remedies, however, is that they only help the group that excludes the vocal responder.
My final concern today, however, is the “Not My President” pre-school playground. Donald Trump is a very successful capitalist, now leading our Republic that is based on, yes, capitalism. He is not a Q-card speaker, and speaks his emotions.
With intent, and within the last 18 months, he has destroyed the GOP and then rebuilt it. He has also destroyed the Democratic Party. He can now use that leadership to lead a country that has been sorely lacking leadership for eight years.
As concerned citizens and taxpayers we must realize that the government is not a third party. We are the government!
