Everett’s Rielly named Big Sky player of the week

Sidney Rielly of Everett, a third-year sophomore on the Portland State University women’s basketball team, has been named Big Sky Conference Player of the Week for Jan. 9-15.
Rielly, a 2014 graduate of Everett High School, had 28 points in an 81-74 victory over Southern Utah on Jan. 14 and 20 points in a 56-55 victory over Northern Arizona on Jan. 16 (the game was originally scheduled for Jan. 12, but was postponed due to weather).
For the two games, Rielly shot 19-for-26 from the field (.731 percent).
Rielly is in her first season with the Vikings. She sat out last season after transferring from Santa Clara.
Pivec receives 2nd Pac-12 honor
Guard Mikayla Pivec, a 2016 graduate of Lynnwood High School, was named Pacific-12 Conference Freshman of the Week for the week of Jan. 9-15. It was the second time Pivec had received the award, as she was also honored for the week of Dec. 19-25.
Pivec had nine points, six rebounds, five assists, one steal and one blocked shot in a Jan. 13 game against UCLA and 10 points, six rebounds and two assists against USC on Dec. 15.
