LYNNWOOD — A man arrested by Lynnwood police Wednesday had an untreated gunshot wound apparently suffered days earlier.
The man, described as being in his 30s, would not tell investigators how he got the wound, Deputy Police Chief Jim Nelson said Thursday. The man only said it happened in Seattle.
Officers had been looking for him because he had warrants, including one out of Lynnwood and one from the Department of Corrections.
He was spotted about 7 p.m. Wednesday in the area of Fred Meyer along 196th Street SW. He allegedly ran from officers and was chased down.
After he was arrested, he complained of leg pain.
“The officers looked and saw he had a through-and-through gunshot wound,” Nelson said.
The man also reportedly was carrying heroin and methamphetamine.
He was taken to the hospital. Upon his release, he was booked into the Snohomish County Jail. He is likely to face new charges related to the drugs and the foot chase, Nelson said.
