Here are five local prep events this week to keep an eye on:

1. Boys golf: Wesco 4A meet, 2 p.m. Tuesday. The eight Wesco 4A teams gather at Walter Hall Golf Course in Everett for the first of three conference meets in a span of six days.

2. Baseball: Lake Stevens at Glacier Peak, 4 p.m. Wednesday. The Grizzlies, ranked fourth in the latest Tacoma News Tribune 4A state poll, sport an 11-3 record and sit atop the Wesco 4A. A win would be critical for the Vikings, who are two games back of Glacier Peak.

3. Softball: Cedarcrest at South Whidbey, 4 p.m. Wednesday. The Redwolves are off to an outstanding start, winning their first 12 games of the season and earning a No. 4 ranking in the latest Tacoma News Tribune 2A state poll. The Falcons are their top Cascade Conference challenger at this point.

4. Boys soccer: Edmonds-Woodway at Mountlake Terrace, 7:30 p.m. Friday. Terrace (10-3-0, 7-2-0 Wesco 3A) is in second place and still hopes to catch Snohomish for the conference title. In order to do so, they Hawks will have to beat the Warriors (6-5-2, 6-2-1), who are in third place but have dropped their past two games.

5. Girls tennis: Snohomish at Stanwood, 3:30 p.m. Friday. The Panthers are the unquestioned best team in Wesco 3A North, but Stanwood hopes to give them a good challenge. “They’re the elite team in the north,” said Stanwood coach Sean Cunningham. “Most coaches would probably say that you should model your program after what they do there.”
