Woman and pets escape Mountlake Terrace house fire

MOUNTLAKE TERRACE — A woman and her dog and cat escaped a house fire in Mountlake Terrace without injuries Monday afternoon.

The fire was reported shortly after 2:15 p.m. in the 23500 block of 56th Avenue. W.

The woman was able to get out of the house on her own, Snohomish County Fire District 1 spokeswoman Leslie Hynes said.

It took firefighters from District 1, Lynnwood and Shoreline about 15 minutes to extinguish the blaze.

“It’s pretty heavily damaged,” Hynes said.

The cause of the fire was under investigation Monday afternoon.
