Prep girls soccer: Edmonds-Woodway 2, Redmond 2

REDMOND — Edmonds-Woodway gave up two late goals against nonleague opponent Redmond in succumbing to a draw in its season opener. The Warriors (0-0-1 overall) opened with goals from Kalia Machado and Cameron McCarthy in the 28th and 50th minutes respectively to take a 2-0 lead. But Redmond (0-0-1) battled back, getting goals late in the second half to tie it up. The two teams didn’t play an overtime period because it was a nonleague contest.
