Prep boys soccer: Shorecrest 3, Mount Vernon 1

MOUNT VERNON — Shorecrest scored three unanswered goals after falling behind 1-0 early to advance to the 3A District 1 championship game against league rival Glacier Peak. After Mount Vernon’s Nate Barber scored in the eighth minute, the Scots’ Ian Adams returned the favor with a goal in the ninth minute to knot the score. Asa Redfield then gave the Scots the lead when he scored in the 15th minute. The score remained 2-1 well into the second half until Glenn Paden tallied the clincher in the 70th minute.
