Pacific Little League crushes Wyoming 15-1 in regional opener

SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. — The Pacific Little League All-Stars scored five runs in the top of the first inning and rolled past Wyoming 15-1 in their opening game of the Northwest Regional tournament Sunday at Houghton Stadium. The game was shortened to four innings due to the mercy rule.

Jacob Prinz led the offensive surge, going 3-for-3 with two triples, a home run and five RBI.

Jacob Gabler earned the win for Pacific, allowing one unearned run in three innings while striking out four. Remy Heckman finished the game on the hill by striking out the side in the bottom of the fourth.

After taking a 7-1 lead through two innings, Pacific was blanked in the third before exploding for eight runs in the fourth inning, including Prinz’s three-run blast, to put the game out of reach.

Kam Jordan was 1-for-2 with a double, two runs scored and a stolen base, and Tyreek Curley and Lane Corsi each added two hits for Pacific.

Pacific, which is comprised of players from Lynnwood and Edmonds, will next take on Oregon at 7 p.m. Monday.
