The preschool blues

Am I blue? The founders of the Blue Man Group, the trio of performance art percussionists in blue face paint, have launched a preschool and elementary school in New York.

The kids don’t complain much about the school uniforms, but when parents arrive at the end of the day to pick up their kids, there have been a few mix-ups.

Enjoy it while you can, Mom and Dad: A new study found that parents of young children were less active than their peers without kids, and moms of young kids were more likely to pack on pounds and eat sugary drinks and fatty foods than childless women.

However, further study showed that things tend to correct themselves as children get older and parents increased their activity by running their kids to soccer games and the mall and were beaten to the fridge by teenage sons.

Life on (sort of) Mars: A Boeing engineer, Kavya Manyapu, who is part of a group of scientists simulating the conditions astronauts might experience on Mars, says she’s adjusting to one-minute showers every three days and using recycled water on the Mars Desert Research Station in Utah.

Turns out the trick to drinking “recycled” water is mixing it with enough Tang.
