MARYSVILLE — Marysville-Pilchuck jumped out to a quick 9-3 lead after the first two innings, then rode the arm of starter Jake Thomas (2-0) for the victory. The first of four Seagulls errors was particularly costly, coming with two outs in the first inning. The error kept the inning alive for the Tomahawks, who promptly strung together three consecutive hits to score four runs. After Everett answered with three runs in the top half of the second, the Tomahawks scored five runs via four hits and two errors. Sophomore Kyle Nobach went 3-for-3 with a double and four runs scored and senior Jake Blagg batted 2-for-2 with two RBI for Marysville-Pilchuck (4-0 overall). Everett fell to 1-3.
